Dermaroller- A treatment for improving scars and stretch marks

Hi everyone!

Today I am blogging about our Dermaroller in-Clinic Treatment for improving the appearance of scars and stretch marks

Can Scars and Stretch Marks Be Removed?

This is a popular question we are often asked here at Outline Skincare Clinic in Droitwich, Worcestershire and is a common concern for many.

We carry out an in Clinic treatment called Dermaroller and Electronic DermaStamp, which can help.

This treatment is excellent for scar reduction (such as acne scarring or chicken pox scarring) and improving the appearance of stretch marks.

The Dermaroller/EDS treatment involves tiny needles penetrating the skin, which causes localised trauma to the area concerned. The pin-prick bleeding caused by the needles stimulates the bodies natural healing process and encourages elastin and collagen production.

Over time (usually a course of 6-8 treatments) scarring and stretch marks reduce.

This is also a fantastic anti-ageing treatment due to the fibroblast stimulation, which over time reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles!

It is vital this is an in-Clinic treatment and not done at home as the treatment is performed in a sterilised clinical environment, which reduces the risk of infection.

Is it painful?

At the start of the treatment topical anaesthetic cream is applied and left on for 30 minutes to numb the treatment area.

You may feel some discomfort, but this is minimal.

Will there be down-time?

Yes, redness to the treatment area will be apparent and this can take roughly 4-7 days to dissipate, depending on the area.

Increased exfoliation (shedding of dead skin) is also common as the skin heals and regenerates this generally lasts for 10-14 days

Mineral makeup can be applied to cover the redness up.

Each individual is different, however usually a course of 4-6 treatments is recommended.

 Can any area be treated?

We are able to treat all areas of the face and body. For the face we use the DermaStamp machine, and for the body we use a roller and carry out the treatment manually. We use different needle sizes for different parts of the body.

How long does the treatment take?

Dependant on the area, treatments tend to take 75 minutes in total and you would come for a treatment every 4-6 weeks.

What is the cost of the treatments?

The cost of the treatments are as follows:-

DermaStamp for small isolated areas is £90.00 for a single treatment or £290.00 for a course of 4 treatments.

Stretch Marks from £200 for a single treatment or from £650.00 for a course of 4 treatments.

EDS DermaStamp is £195 for a single treatment or £625 for a course of 4 treatments.

We also offer payment plans so you can spread the cost of your treatments, generally over a 12 month period.
