Emily’s EndyMed 3DEEP Fractional Skin Resurfacing (FSR) Experience…
Hi Everyone! Its Emily here, Outline’s Clinic Host and Administrator.
Here at Outline Clinic in Droitwich, Worcestershire we offer the full range of skin-tightening and resurfacing treatments from Endymed.
I’m here to tell you about my personal experience of the fabulous and extremely popular EndyMed 3DEEP Fractional Skin Resurfacing (FSR) Treatment.
This method combines the power of radiofrequency (a non-ionized form of radiation) and mild ablation to generate an optimum level of heat which stimulates the collagen and elastin in the skin, this improves the underlying structures of your skin causing it to tighten and smooth. The ablation lifts off dead skin cells to stimulate cell renewal- great for crepey lines around the eyes/mouth!Each patient has their own personal FSR tip which is placed on the machine, this tip is placed on the skin during treatment, creating a uniformed area of tightening.
Improvements in the skin can be visible in as little as a few weeks but best results are shown from 3-6 months, after a course of treatment.
As a course of treatment, EndyMed Fractional Skin Resurfacing can help improve fine lines, wrinkles and scarring.
How often are treatments needed?
Generally, a course of 3 treatments are recommended, based 3 weeks apart.
Future top up treatments will be advised by your Practitioner, our Practitioners Lauren and Charlotte are skilled and experienced and will be able to advise the best course of treatment for you.
Treatments are £200 for one treatment session or £600 for a course of 3.
Bespoke payment plans are also available whereby monthly instalments combined with a deposit are made, this can be discussed at consultation to find the right plan for you.
First, you will have a thorough consultation with your Practitioner. Here we will see if you are suitable for treatment and discuss treatment options.
You will also be informed of pre and post after care advice, taken through desired results and be able to discuss any concerns you may have.
Initially you will have a Topical Anesthetic cream applied to the treatment area. This is quite cold and after around 15 minutes the cream will start to gently numb the area (which can feel a little strange!)
After 20 minutes the skin will be ready to begin treatment. Your Practitioner will inform you of when they are about to begin treatment. A template is used to gently mark out (in a white powder) a pattern over the treatment area (in this case it was my face), the therapist will then use this as a guide when carrying out the treatment. You will be asked if you are comfortable and ready for them to begin.
The hand piece is guided across the treatment area in short bursts onto the skin– this is quite a strange sensation! It is not painful but feels quite hot and feels slightly prickly as the handpiece touches your skin. This process continues until the whole treatment area is covered, certain areas can be much more sensitive (I found it a little uncomfortable around the upper eyelid area, beneath my eye brows) but on the whole I remained comfortable during the treatment-I would certainly have it again!
Once treatment is complete a cooling gel called Control Tactics is applied onto the skin (which feels wonderful!) this contains skin-loving Hyaluronic acid for hydration, vitamin C & E for anti oxidant protection and anti inflammatory properties such as green tea to calm and soothe.
Lastly, a sunscreen (SPF) specifically for post-procedures will be applied as the skin is particularly susceptible to sun-damage if exposed following this treatment. The sunscreen was SPF 50 and I know what you’re thinking- but it was ultra light-weight, smelt incredible and was slightly tinted to tone down the redness! It was the Heliocare SPF 50 sun touch, I love it!
The Heliocare SPF 50 sun touch also makes a great make up primer!
These products are given to you as part of your course of treatment.
Immediately after treatment the skin does feel quite hot and will be visibly red or flushed for several days (this can be covered with mineral make up after 24 hours).
However, unlike laser tightening treatments, Radio frequency is more controlled, thus minimizing down time.
The hot feeling usually takes several hours to dissipate. It feels a little like sunburn, but you can apply the cooling gel as often as you wish to counteract these sensations. As the skin begins to heal itself over the following days, you may develop a very fine micro-crusting on the treated skin – this is totally normal and part of the skin recovery process- its your cell turnover increasing= anti-ageing! Keep applying the cooling Control Tactics gel for 5-7 days following the treatment (a bottle should last you throughout your course) and also apply the sunscreen provided every day and this clears very quickly.
The slight skin flaking can sometimes last for 7-10 days, however make up generally covers this and it is minimal.
A few days after treatment my skin looked and felt brighter, softer, tighter and healthier. Although not always the case so soon, after a week I could definitely see and feel a difference in my skin.
I have now had a course and I am ecstatic will the results! Fine lines have reduced and the skin around my eyes looks more youthful! Stay tuned for some pictures of my progress!
