Most treatments take 20-30 minutes. Results are immediate and depending upon the site treated, can last 6-12 months. An anaesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment to reduce any discomfort with original Restylane products. New Restylane Lidocaine can be administered comfortably without the need for local anaesthetic cream. For patient comfort, lips can be treated under a dental anaesthetic, which numbs the lips prior to the injections and lasts for some time after the treatment session, thus reducing any pain or discomfort. After effects can include redness, swelling, bruising and itching. Full information is given prior to treatment, together with written information to take home.
